I supported CCP in closed beta.
I held off support while waiting for new things to release.
I was hoping that when racial parity came to DUST, we would get new Merc Packs with racial weapon sets, and I would have bought such things.
When they removed the Merc Packs from the market, after blatantly refusing to honour the commitments they agreed to on the packs sold during closed beta, I decided that I would wait and see if they added BPOs back into the game or if they finally added proper cosmetic options - either of those could be worth spending real money on again.
After the Fanfest announcement for Legion, I've been very vocal on what NEEDS to happen for me to consider not only paying for DUST as we move forward, but also to consider the possibility of paying for Legion if and when it shows up.
At present, there's still a LOT that CCP are refusing to even look at which I consider ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY if they want to ever see money from me again. I expect to see PvE, but I'm totally happy with any PvE options in DUST being extremely limited and having even as few as 4 players supported. Even the most basic of gradually escalating horde modes would be fine by me. I expect some form of player trading, but I'd be willing to take something as simple as adding a "give item" button that doesn't work for BPOs so people can trade officer weapons and other things but without any of the security of proper market tools. So far, neither of those things have been even remotely hinted at as possibilities that CCP might consider acting on in future, but I consider both to be absolute bare-bones MINIMUM requirements if I'm to spend money on the project in the foreseeable future.
Maybe, just maybe, in about 5 or 6 years' time, when Legion is finally in a state as good as what DUST would have been if they ever actually bothered to make it release-ready, when it's officially been "released" for more than 3 years, I might consider that the game is in a good enough state AND has good enough content for paid items to be worth spending a very small amount of money on. Before then, it'll take a minor miracle for CCP to regain enough of my trust to see anything but participation out of me. |

Seymour KrelbornX wrote:I don't support ccp with my money anymore. I cancled my eve account, and I did delete dust but I recently reinstalled it because sadly there is nothing else keeping my attention at the moment.
played darksouls 2, beat it, slayed hundreds in pvp
played stick of truth beat it
last of us beat it
I could go on but you get the idea, and I don't have a ps4 yet, so any cross gen game I don't want to touch till I do...
but I actually have always had fun playing dust.... but no, I will never give those back stabbing thieves another penny... ever.. Have you tried Armored Core: Verdict Day yet?
Small-ish community, but a good game. Kind of like DUST without the developer betrayals in that sense.
Also, it's from the makers of Dark Souls, but with a heavier multiplayer focus and more importantly, GIANT MOTHERKITTEN ROBOTS. Oh yeah, the giant robots have insane customisation too, so kind of like DUST again.
And it lives up to the reputation From Software have thanks to Dark Souls by not being very easy or forgiving on new players. It's actually in many ways HARDER than Dark Souls. If you get some good friends helping you out though, you can pick up most of the basics pretty fast and become a competent player. |

It was entertaining pretending i cared that ccp was making project legion ,not bringing dust to ps4, and basically giving dust players the middle finger. You guys could even check my k/d been here since 2012 with the lowest kills and deaths of any closed beta vet. The game was just so boring that it wasnt even worth looking at especially when ffxiv released. There are at least a few forum warrior alts with 0s across the board for everything but post count.
Pretty sure you're not the lowest kill and death count if you've played the game since the Uprising partial-reset-masquerading-as-release.
I've got pretty poor stats myself on this character, and I'm not sure how the other characters on the account are doing (they aren't mine), but my actual in-game characters are doing quite nicely. |

You should look into getting a more productive hobby :-P trolling fourms does not teach many life skills :-( I already have my own business, parkour and swordfighting training as well as a pretty active social life over the weekend and occasionally weekdays as well, and I show up on a variety of internet forums while I'm watching TV (I type in ad breaks) or when I'm having a quiet night and am not in the mood for gaming (usually in between chapters while reading a book.
Spending time on forums isn't my most productive hobby, but I quite enjoy it. I'll quit when it stops being fun. |
